Pregnancy brings significant physical changes that affect the muscles, joints, and connective tissue throughout the body. As posture shifts and the body adapts to accommodate a growing baby, muscle tension, discomfort, and fatigue accumulate in ways that are difficult to address through rest alone.

Prenatal massage therapy is a safe, effective way to manage that tension, reduce discomfort, and support overall wellbeing during pregnancy.

At Loop Spine & Sports Center, prenatal massage is available after the first trimester and is performed by our experienced licensed massage therapists who are trained in working with pregnant patients.

What Prenatal Massage Addresses

Pregnancy-related muscle tension and discomfort tends to concentrate in predictable areas as the body changes. Prenatal massage at Loop Spine & Sports Center is used to address:

  • Low Back Pain and Tension

  • Hip Pain and Tightness

  • Glute and Piriformis Tension

  • Upper Back and Shoulder Tension

  • General Muscle Fatigue and Soreness

  • Leg Tension and Cramping

  • Overall Stress and Tension Accumulation

What to Expect

Prenatal massage sessions are performed with positioning and techniques adapted specifically for pregnancy. Patient comfort and safety are the priority throughout the session. Treatment is tailored to the stage of pregnancy and the specific areas of tension and discomfort the patient is experiencing.

Prenatal massage pairs naturally with prenatal chiropractic care. Many patients at Loop Spine & Sports Center receive both during the same visit, with chiropractic adjusting and massage working together to address the spinal and soft tissue changes that occur throughout pregnancy.

Scheduling Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is available in thirty minute and sixty minute sessions. If you would like to include prenatal massage as part of your visit, please let us know when scheduling so the appropriate time can be reserved. We recommend booking in advance to ensure availability with your preferred therapist.

New patients are welcome and can take advantage of our $75 first visit special, which includes a thorough consultation, complete spinal examination if appropriate, and a report of findings. No pressure, no obligation. Just an honest conversation about what is going on and whether we can help.

Loop Spine & Sports Center is located at 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 605 in the heart of the Chicago Loop, steps from Millennium Park and accessible from every CTA train line.
