Massage Therapy in Downtown Chicago

Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Cupping, and More from Experienced Chicago Massage Therapists

Massage therapy is not an add-on at Loop Spine & Sports Center. It is a central part of how most patients are treated here. Dr. Trottier has built his practice around the combination of hands-on chiropractic adjusting and therapeutic massage because that combination consistently produces better outcomes than either approach alone. Most patients receive massage as part of their regular visits. Many request it every single time they come in.

Our massage therapists are graduates of The Soma Institute in Chicago and bring years of experience in both spa and chiropractic settings. They work closely alongside Dr. Trottier so that every massage session complements and supports the chiropractic care rather than operating independently of it.

What Our Massage Therapists Do

Both of our lead therapists specialize in deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy, techniques designed to address the layers of muscle and connective tissue that contribute to chronic pain, restricted movement, and slow recovery.

Deep tissue work reaches beyond the surface to release tension in the deeper muscle groups that standard relaxation massage does not address. Trigger point therapy targets specific areas of muscle hyperirritability, the knots and tight bands that refer pain to other parts of the body, and works to release them directly.

In addition to deep tissue and trigger point work, both therapists are trained in cupping and scraping techniques. Cupping uses suction to lift and separate tissue, improving circulation and releasing fascial adhesions.

Scraping, also known as instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, uses a smooth edged tool to break up scar tissue and improve tissue mobility. These adjunct techniques are incorporated when the clinical picture calls for them, not applied routinely to every patient.

How Massage Fits Into Your Treatment Plan

For most patients at Loop Spine & Sports Center, massage therapy and chiropractic adjusting happen during the same visit. Dr. Trottier coordinates the treatment so that soft tissue work prepares the muscles and surrounding structures for adjusting, or follows adjusting to reinforce the changes made during the spinal treatment.

The sequencing matters and it is managed deliberately rather than left to chance.

Patients who receive massage on every visit tend to progress faster, hold their adjustments longer, and report higher overall satisfaction with their care.

For patients dealing with chronic muscle tension, sports related soreness, postural strain from desk work, or the kind of tightness that builds up over time and never fully releases, massage therapy is often the difference between temporary relief and lasting improvement.
